Description

Contract Type: Permanent

Department: Technology

Central London office space by Mansion House (EC4V) with a hybrid working environment (usually 2 days a week in the office)

The Role:

At Kubrick Advanced, we are growing a specialist community of expert engineers and we’re looking for a Senior ML Engineer with strong Databricks experience to lead impactful, high-visibility projects for top-tier clients.

As a Senior ML Engineer, you will play a critical role in the successful delivery of complex data and ML solutions - often in collaboration with Databricks’ professional services team. This is a hands-on technical leadership role where you’ll combine deep machine learning knowledge with MLOps best practices to deploy scalable, high-performing models across varied domains.

You’ll lead delivery squads, guide solution architecture, liaise with stakeholders and ensure our engineering standards remain industry-leading. Additionally, you’ll help shape the evolution of Kubrick Advanced’s Databricks delivery capability, mentoring and managing junior engineers along the way

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the technical delivery of client-facing ML projects, ensuring high-quality engineering outputs
  • Design and deploy production-ready ML models using Databricks and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
  • Translate business problems into robust ML solutions through a blend of statistical modelling, machine learning, and data engineering
  • Apply and champion MLOps practices throughout the model lifecycle—training, versioning, monitoring, and retraining
  • Collaborate with client teams and internal stakeholders to deliver on business-critical initiatives
  • Mentor and line-manage junior engineers, fostering their growth and ensuring knowledge transfer
  • Contribute to the internal Databricks knowledge base and promote a culture of curiosity and excellence

Personal Specification:

  • Significant experience in ML and/or data science, including production deployment of ML models
  • Proven experience in technical leadership and/or line management
  • Hands-on expertise with Databricks, ideally with ML Engineer certification
  • Strong coding skills in Python and SQL, with experience in model training, evaluation, and serving
  • Familiarity with cloud services (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
  • Deep understanding of ML theory and the ability to choose the right model/framework per use case
  • Practical awareness of cost/performance trade-offs in cloud-based ML workloads
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Degree or post-doc qualification in AI/ML Theory, Maths, statistics or a related subject

What Kubrick offers:

We are a fast moving and fast growth business which is doing something seriously innovative and valuable. We already have a very supportive, diverse and appreciative client base, giving us stable foundations enabling us to keep working to high standards as we continue to grow.

We also offer:

  • A competitive salary & bonus
  • 25 days of annual leave
  • Perkbox discounts and Wellness Hub with confidential well-being and mental health support
  • Cycle to work scheme
